6 Capital High School students earned a chair and will represent SFPS in the guitar ensemble in the highly competitive 2023 New Mexico Educators Association All-State Festival! This festival exhibits the highest musical talent in the state with guitar pieces that require students to practice many extra hours with dedication and preparation! Santa Fe Children's Museum and Capital High's DECA Entrepreneur Club came together to create educational and fun gifts to be given to some of SFPS' youngest students! These presents have several items that will bring smiles to our little ones while promoting both organizations!
2nd Graders at Nina Otero CS created their own Balloon Designs which were photographed on a green screen and edited by the 8th Grade Media students to recreate the Macy's Day Parade as their background! Media Teacher Mr. Carreon said this is what Community Schools are all about!

Milagro MS students from Megan Bower-Avina's Maker Space took to the runway with their recycled fashions and wowed a crowd of hundreds! The yearly event, entitled Recycle Santa Fe, includes a Fashion show, art show and craft fair! Milagro students won 1st place for their Recycled Power Figures and 3rd place for their embroidered repurposed books! Congratulations to our talented and creative artists!
The SFHS Marching Band performed at the Bands of America Regional Championships on 11/5/22! As a AA band, they excelled against programs from larger cities with more students! Their Winter Concert will be on 12/14/22 at 6:30 PM featuring all of the SFHS Bands! Don't miss it!
This afternoon, students from the Senior Mentors, Student Government and WAVE program handed out over 40 turkeys and many more Thanksgiving meals to families!

Chaparral Elementary had another successful family event last Wednesday Nov. 9th, 2022! This time families shared strategies for discipline at home, worked on puzzles, had an exciting scavenger hunt and visited a wildlife center!
Due to a power outage in the surrounding area affecting the Atalaya Elementary, Atalaya will be on a two hour delay. Staff please report as close to normal reporting time as safe to do so. Students who arrive during the delay can remain on campus.
