The staff and students at Early College Opportunities High School (ECO), located at 2301 W. Zia Road, invite the public to join them on Wednesday, August 24th, at 5:15 p.m., to celebrate the launch of its $21 million campus renovation.  The renovation will double classroom space and provide a gymnasium and new, single-entrance administrative building for improved school safety and security.

“This is a day many ECO staff and students have been anxiously awaiting,” said SFPS Superintendent Hilario “Larry” Chavez.  “Our College and Career Technical Education options will be able to expand with the new renovations,” he said.

ECO Principal Josh Rhine said, " I am excited this construction is getting off the ground. This will be a game changer for ECO, letting us increase enrollment, add programming and give students and teachers the spaces they need and deserve.”

The campus renovation, which is made possible by funding from the 2017 and 2021 General Obligation Bonds, approved by Santa Fe voters, will allow enrollment to expand.

ECO offers students the option of a trades-focused education through the following college and career pathways: Auto Body; Auto Tech; Computer Science; Art, Design & Architecture; Greenhouse; and Welding.  Through postsecondary partners, which include Santa Fe Community College, Institute of American Indian Arts and San Juan College, students take dual credit courses for certificates and degrees that lead to high-quality careers and transition them from high school to college.

ECO’s original campus was developed in 2017 on part of the Santa Fe High School campus.
