The New Mexico School Boards Association has selected 11 dedicated employees of the Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) for their exceptional commitment to advancing student success.
The honorees from SFPS represent a wide array of educational leadership, classroom excellence, and community support, highlighting the collaborative spirit that drives the district’s mission forward. The SFPS honorees are among 189 recipients being recognized statewide for playing a vital role in improving student achievement across New Mexico.
“Our Santa Fe Public Schools are made up of individuals who work every day for our students,” said the Board of Education President, Kate Noble. “They are everything. Each year, we get a chance to honor a few exceptional members of the team and celebrate them for the great work they do. Congratulations and thank you to all of this year‘s honorees.”

Christopher Eadie, AP Human Geography and Psychology teacher at Santa Fe High School
Loretta Fernandez, Assistant Director of the Adelante Program
Jessica Garcia, Principal of Amy Biehl Community School
Joshua Granata, SFPS Legal Counsel
Michael Hagele, SFPS Assistant Superintendent
Kelly Phillips, Instructional Coach at Capital High School
Ana Raquel Plaza, Deputy Chief, SFPS Family and Community Engagement
Nicholas Salazar, SFPS District Athletic Director
Brian Smith, Santa Fe High School teacher
"These honorees lead with purpose, serve with integrity, and keep students at the center of every decision,” said Superintendent Dr. Christine Griffin. “Their work makes our schools stronger and moves our entire district forward."
The honorees were recognized at the SFPS Board of Education meeting on April 23.
