His dedication is especially evident in his participation in the Spanish Spelling Bee. Last year, Santiago earned a strong placement at the school level and advanced to the district competition. Although he did not place at district, he returned this year with even greater focus and determination. His hard work paid off as he once again advanced and proudly earned third place at the district level—an impressive accomplishment that reflects his resilience and growth mindset.
Beyond academics, Santiago is an active and engaged member of the school community. He enjoys sports, particularly soccer, and takes part in after-school activities such as guitar club. These experiences have supported his growth not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, helping him build confidence and strong connections with his peers.
