Each year, the New Mexico School Nurse Association (NMSNA) honors outstanding school nurses and individuals dedicated to the health and well-being of New Mexico’s students through its prestigious awards program. These awards highlight excellence in school nursing, recognize exceptional contributions to student health, and celebrate community impact.
SFPS invites parents, staff or students to nominate a school nurse or nurse aide for one or more of the following awards, celebrating the dedication and accomplishments of our amazing health staff:
School Nurse of the Year Award: Recognizing a school nurse who exemplifies excellence in care, professionalism, and dedication to students. Link to nominate
Marlene McDowell Distinguished RN Service Award: Celebrating a registered nurse with a history of distinguished service in school nursing. Link to nominate
Horizon Award: Acknowledging a novice school nurse who demonstrates exceptional school nursing practice and leadership potential. Link to nominate
Recognition Award: Open to school nurses or individuals who complete a special project significantly impacting school nursing practices. Nurse aides are eligible for this award. Link to nominate
Community Service Award: Recognizing an individual or organization that promotes the health of New Mexico’s school children. Link to nominate
