According to Public Education Department guidelines dated July 26th, individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and who have had close contact with a COVID-19 infectious individual are not required to quarantine if they meet the following criteria:

  • Are fully vaccinated (i.e., more than two weeks following receipt of the second dose in a two-dose vaccine, or more than two weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)

  • Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure

Any parent/guardian of a student testing positive for COVID-19 must provide a list of close contacts to the DOH and SFPS’ lead school nurse or the COVID-19 response specialist, who assists with contact tracing.

Any student who displays any symptoms while at school due to the flu, cold, allergies or due to air quality will be sent home out of precaution. If a student is sent home due to non-COVID-19 symptoms, it does not mean that the student is positive for COVID-19.
