Immunizations

New Mexico law requires that all students be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable communicable diseases (see NMSA § 24 (Health and Safety)). These requirements are determined by the NMDOH in collaboration with the New Mexico Vaccine Advisory Committee (VAC) using recommendations from the national Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

The 2023-2024 school immunization requirements are available here.

You can view an interactive map of vaccination clinics in the Santa Fe area here.

A current immunization record or approved religious/medical exemption form (updated annually) must be on file for each student. The Santa Fe Public School nurses are able to administer some vaccines at school, if you sign a consent form. We encourage all students to go to their primary healthcare provider for necessary immunizations, when possible, and understand that some students may not have a provider or insurance. Immunization appointments are typically available on Fridays at the BF Young Professional Building. Please contact your school nurse or call 505-467-2629 for an appointment. This is a public health service intended to minimize the spread of childhood diseases.
