SFPS/NEA-SF Agreement

SFPS/NEA-SF Agreement

School will begin for all students on August 20th fully remote for the first nine weeks, depending on infection rates for Santa County.

We will assess infection transmission rates and when they fall below 1.05 we will begin to bring students back into a pilot hybrid model.

Faculty and staff will be given additional planning and preparation time and will return to work on August 11th.

When we do return in a hybrid model, we will start with a small pupil-teacher ratio to ensure that all of our protocols work, from transportation, to food services, to recess and so on.

We intend to implement a continuous improvement model to modify and re- fine protocols and procedures, and will continue to increase the student population 20% at a time into the hybrid model.

We’ve also agreed to establish an advisory committee to review how the hybrid pilot has worked and make modifications as appropriate.

However, we must still consider that we have parents/families who prefer remote and faculty/staff who must be provided with accommodations for teaching remotely. We will do our best to accommodate these needs when the time to move to hybrid arrives.
