Family and Community Communications


SFPS Communications with Parents and Guardians

The district will use social media and the SFPS website to inform parents, students and staff about COVID-19 symptoms, preventive measures, good hygiene, and school/district specific protocols. Information will be posted on the SFPS website regarding:

  • Specific school information 
  • District updates 
  • Health and Safety 
  • COVID-19 re-entry related information 


 

Additionally, the district will send messages to parents/guardians through School Messenger. (Parents will receive text messages.) District-wide information will be provided on an ongoing basis through this forum. 


Schools will communicate through the following tools:

  • Mass-texting platform                           
  • Email
  • Live streams of Board of Education meetings
  • Posting information and resources on the district’s website
  • Through Open Access (Canvas)
  • Direct communication from principals, teachers, and support staff
  • The district’s social media accounts
  • Developing videos and posting them to the district’s YouTube channel
  • Google Meet and Zoom meetings
  • Pre-recorded and pre-determined messages for:                                                                                     
    • Social media
    • Email
    • Robo-Calls (telephone)
