Supporting our students, their family and our community is an integral piece of education.  SFPS believes that strong school communities create strong students.  Our goal is to partner with every person that has influence in our student’s lives, to include students, teachers, administrators, staff, families, volunteers, and community partners. Our focus is to promote the health, well-being and learning for students and their family. Together we can ensure success.

The District Social Worker is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of SFPS community engagement activities, to include public programs, community meetings and public gatherings. This position works to develop and strengthen partnerships with key community stakeholders, liaise with SFPS staff to build organizational capacity for community engagement and manage and support community engagement events for the Superintendent’s office. The District Social Worker works with diverse community groups, nonprofits and/or parent organizations in support of SFPS students.

In addition, this position supports schools by assisting with truancy efforts, providing community supports that aid in student well-being and parent communication and advocacy. The District Social Worker can also be contacted with any parent or community questions or concerns.
