Resources for Art Education During COVID19 

Below are some resources and local/digital offerings from museums in our community that can help aide in continuing art education for SFPS students during school closures.

Welcome to the Arts Education Department!



The SFPS Art Department provides an exceptional, comprehensive, standards-based program of art education to K-12 students in Santa Fe public schools. We prepare children and youth for college, career, and/or lifelong engagement with the arts.  

Department Profile
  • 37 teachers
  • 2 staff members
  • 1 mentor / instructional coach
  • Every Elementary student receives 50 minutes of weekly art instruction
  • Most Middle School students receive 50 minutes of daily art instruction
  • Art offerings at the High School level include Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Crafts, Photography and Film.
  • Santa Fe High School offers AP Studio Art as an elective.
