Computers in the labComputer Lab
Chaparral Elementary is fortunate to have a state of the art computer / technology lab. Comprised of 28 IBM Pentium 4 Processors and flat-panel monitors, each student is able to have quality computer time each week. The lab is set up with wireless internet access and printing capabilities. Faculty and students may also use the LCD projector, scanners, and printers in the lab.


Computers in the labLab Visits

All students kindergarten through sixth grade visit the lab once a week for a 45 minute block with Ms. Lenihan, the technology coordinator.  

During their block, students learn a variety of skills, including:
  • Identifying computer components
  • Input / output devices
  • Proper care and use of a computer
  • Keyboarding
  • Launching and manipulating a wide variety of software programs

Technology and Literacy
It is the philosophy of Chaparral Elementary School that technology and literacy are closely related. By educating our students about and with the use of technology, our students are highly motivated as we help them prepare for the future.
