Our library serves all the students at Chaparral Elementary School with the help and guidance of our librarian, Ms. Price.

Check Out Policy
Kindergarten through third grade students may check out one book at a time. Fourth through sixth grade students may check out two books at a time.

All books are checked out for one week. Another book may not be checked out until the student has returned previously checked out books. Students may re-check out a book once. Students may re-check out the same book for a third week as long as no other students are waiting on the book to be returned.

Lost or Damaged Books
If a student loses a book, the student is expected to pay the replacement cost of the book. This cost may be refunded if the book is found later within the same school year.

If a book is torn or damaged, the student will have to pay for the book if the librarian is unable to repair it. Accidents do happen, and the library will work with students on lost and damaged books.
