School Year 2016-2017
The application deadline for admission for the 2016-2017 school year has passed as of 5:00pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2016. The lottery to determine selection took place March 4th, 2016 at 5:00pm.

You may still apply for the 2016-2017 school year but your application will not be considered until all other applications are considered first.

The lottery results may be found by clicking the below links, one for grades 7-8 and one for grades 9-10. If you do not have your confirmation number, go back to your email and search.  The number is in the format MIMS16-_ _ _ _.  The numbers are separated into columns by the district in which you live. Or you can call the school for help. 

If your number is highlighted in green, you have been admitted to the school. The waiting list begins after the greens highlighted numbers.

The Mandela International Magnet School opened in August,  2014. The curriculum framework is aligned to the International Baccalaureate Program, and has MYP and DP Candidate status. It will eventually include a dual language component. The school provides a small, personalized learning environment for students who want to excel in their understanding of languages, world cultures, and global issues.

MIMS Receives Grant To Partner With Harvard's Project Zero

As a result of a grant from a local foundation, the Mandela International Magnet School (MIMS) partners with Harvard's Project Zero (HPZ) for the next three-years. Harvard's Project Zero is an arm of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and for the past forty years has been considered the premier group of educational researchers who have made ground-breaking contributions to educational quality in the United States and around the World.   More >>
