Juntos is a weekly project conducted throughout the school year starting in September homeless families, during which we serve a hot dinner, provide a parent education class promoting family communication, financial literacy, health and academic achievement. There are also art classes for kids, and mentoring and homework help for teens. We give out fresh groceries, free books and clothing, and provide comprehensive case management. More than anything, though, Juntos creates community, and is a time for families to relax, learn and enjoy each other. The program takes place on Wednesday nights at Sweeney Elementary school.
