  Overview
The Executive Director of Curriculum and Professional Development oversees Pre-K through grade 12 core program deliveries, including English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Program oversight also includes the areas of federal programs, new teacher mentoring, AVID, professional development, art, music, and physical education. The department also operates a number of programs outside of the school day/year, including the K-3 Plus program, Title 1 funded summer academic programs and the 21st Century Community Learning Center after school programs. The department also supports the implementation of the district's Digital Learning Plan.


Responsibilities
The Department serves as the central contact point for the SFPS district’s and school sites’ Educational Plan for Student Success (EPSS), federal grant applications, budgets for Title I, Title II, 21st Century, K-3 Plus, Pre-K programs, Reads to Lead, and Carl Perkins. 

Current Initiatives
Staff of the Executive Director of Curriculum & Professional Development work to engage district staff in professional dialogue and work outside of the classroom, through various activities focused on aligning and continually updating instruction and programs to standards.
